Responsible Gaming

This page sets out where to find independent gambling-help organisations from this site, what practical steps can reduce harm before any money is involved, and what this build does and does not do when it comes to controlling gambling behaviour. It applies to every page on this site, including this one.

Find the help organisations linked from every page

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: gambleaware.nsw.gov.au, gamblinghelponline.org.au and responsiblegambling.vic.gov.au. These are the only outbound links on the whole site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows them. Beyond being independent sources of help, nothing further about these organisations is described here.

Follow practical steps before and during play

Decide the amount to spend before starting, not while playing. A figure set in advance is a plan; a figure decided mid-session tends to expand to match whatever is left. Treat that amount as already spent the moment it goes down, so that a win or loss during play does not change the plan.

Never chase a loss. Trying to win back money already lost usually means increasing stakes or speed, which raises the amount at risk rather than recovering it. Keep gambling out of borrowed money, including credit, for the same reason: a loss that was survivable becomes a debt that is not.

Take breaks during a session rather than playing in one continuous stretch. A short pause away from the screen makes it easier to notice how much time or money has actually gone, which is harder to judge while play is still running.

Involve someone else early, before gambling stops being entertainment and starts causing worry, arguments, or financial strain. A second person often notices the shift sooner than the person gambling does, and raising it early keeps the options wider than raising it late.

Check age restrictions that apply throughout this build

The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this build, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing. Each of the ten operator listings also ends with the same warning line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice.

Understand where account controls actually live

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods, and self-exclusion are arranged inside an account at the destination a reader reaches after following an operator link. This site has no account, no form, and no server-side application, so nothing published here can switch one of those controls on, check one, or enforce one. Everything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site: each operator link redirects to a third party, and from that moment the destination's own rules, checks, and account controls apply, not anything published on this page.

Recognise what this site cannot verify or target

Nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it; any check of that kind happens at the destination reached after following an operator link. No advertising or behavioural profiling network is present in these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour. This site collects a small amount of visit data — the page path, the type of event, the name of the referring search engine, and the text of a clicked outbound button — used only to count page views and clicks, and only when a visitor arrives from a search engine. It does not collect names, e-mail addresses, account identifiers, or payment details, does not use cookies, and does not share visitor data with advertising networks, data brokers, or outside analytics services.
